Aquatics
Warm Illinois summers make water-based activities a popular go-to for many. In fact, swimming and summer go hand in hand for many kids and families in Pekin. Some go to Riverfront Park to play in the splash pad, but many go to DragonLand Water Park* with its zero-depth pool entry and two thrilling waterslides. That’s because DragonLand offers a little something for everyone – including one of the top learn-to-swim programs available for infants to adults! So, grab your sunblock and a towel. Register your kids, and come have some fun!
Learn-to-Swim Program: Beginners to Advanced
Pekin Park District’s “Learn-to-Swim” program has partnered with Jeff Ellis Swimming (JES)! For more than 15 years, Ellis has been providing ways for kids to become confident swimmers in a high-quality, fun, and engaging way. Classes are taught by our certified lifeguards and kept small on purpose with a 6:1 instructor ratio. Because they are only 30-minutes long, kids have fun getting in the water and working on their skills. If you’re interested in signing one of your kids or grandkids up for these lessons, be sure to grab your favorite time slot early because these classes always fill up fast!
